Everyone needs to chill.

Vibrational healing through Himalayan Singing Bowls

Hey there, I’m Ken

…and well, I came upon a sound healing career from a different, albeit unique, perspective. Not having an occupational background in the field of therapy or medicine, I’ve spent most of my life prior to this in the wine industry actually. A sales job. But what has completely forged my lifelong path to both health and happiness has been the power of both vibration and music. I’m a music junkie. I’ve seen sound simply transform people, on a vast number of levels. And when I came upon the sound of the Himalayan singing bowls in person for the first time, that was it for me. It combined the meditative properties of music and sound and rhythm with actual vibrations that were affecting me on a cellular level. Something clicked, big time. And (like you perhaps) I didn’t even see it coming!

So this puts me in a very distinctive position. Having seen firsthand what stress, anxiety and pressure in the business world can do to people—both physically and mentally—I decided I wanted to help. I can relate to what people need these days. They need a break. They need some peace. And they need to chill out for a bit. I’ve been there. As a business person, I know. As a parent, I know. Eventually, after a few years of consideration, I decided to study in the Atma-Buti Method, and pursue a career in sound healing. It’s a modality on the rise for sure, and I’m here to help show you why. This stuff works, my friends. Welcome to Unbroken Chain Sound Healing.

My Core Individual Services

While group sound baths are certainly part of my occupation, and I love doing them, I specialize in individual, one-on-one services. I personally feel this is the most effective way to receive vibrational sound healing. Below are a few of the core individual services. Please note that I can apply several of these or tailor a few to your individual needs. Most of the time I do improvise on a combination of several of these in fact. And I am portable! If you want to do a session here at the beach at sunrise, let me know! Or your backyard porch at home in the countryside, that too. Wherever a peaceful spot may be, so can I.

Relaxation Therapy
This method balances the body by inducing a relaxation response. As humans, we are exposed to many unnatural and discordant sounds due to modern day living. The Himalayan singing bowls produce sounds that are calming and pleasing to the mind. They produce tones that are pure, naturally harmonious and resonant with each other. The effect of listening to this type of sound calms the mind, much like nature would. In essence, a calm mind produces a healthier body making it less susceptible to illness and disease. Typically 7 bowls are used here, along with a small set of tranquility bowls. They do not touch the body, but surround.

Chakra Balancing Therapy

This therapeutic method opens up the 3rd eye chakra energy, promoting understanding of your inner vision. Once the 3rd eye chakra is open, negative energy can gradually dissipate, grounding one from negative influences both internally and externally. An open 3rd eye chakra enhances overall chakra balance. The bowls here do not touch the body, but surround similar to the Relaxation Therapy, and small tingsha bells are used.

On-Body Therapy
Himalayan singing bowls produce vibrations capable of shifting imbalances in our subtle bodies. When there is disease or distress in the body, the cells vibrate out of balance. Therefore, it is particularly effective to place singing bowls directly on the body, so that the vibrations are in an optimal position to affect any internal imbalances.

On-Body Therapy (water)
Similar to the above method, but with the addition of warm water inside the bowls to help healing vibrations penetrate deeper in order to move our cells and improve circulation.

Frequently asked questions

  • Physics tells us that everything vibrates at a specific frequency. This vibration occurs in different levels of consciousness, including the human body and its energy systems--Chakras and Auras. We all have natural state of vibration. When the body falls out of harmony, various states of discord may result. It is now being shown that use of voice, music and singing bowls to bring harmonious sounds into the body can help. The sound made by the bowls is both captivating and calming, and they can be used as an aid to meditation. One reason for this is that the sound emitted by the bowls can instantly create a sense of trance-like calm and tranquility. Negative energy can make us physically ill or mentally depressed. Each bowl emits a soothing vibration that dissipates negative energy.

  • I live in Belmar, NJ (Wall Township) and currently serve the New Jersey shore area (Monmouth and Ocean counties). I will also be looking to expand into NYC. If you are requesting an at-home therapy session, please take note of this. That said, it also depends on what I have scheduled on any particular day. I can definitely travel further out if needed!

  • My private individual sessions are generally 60 min and are $125 an hour.

  • Similar to what other non-traditional therapies and modalities went through (acupuncture, etc.), sound healing is typically not yet covered by insurance. When I can, I will!

  • Although there is no actual license required to be a sound healing practitioner, I felt it necessary to learn the techniques and history through an accredited state program. I am currently moving toward Level 3 at the Atma-Buti Sound and Vibrational School located in Boulder, Colorado. The Atma-Buti school is regulated by the State of Colorado Department of Higher Education and is a board-approved provider of CEU's for the National Certificate Board for Therapeutic Bodywork (NCBTMB). Following Level 3 and a Practicum of assessment of one's skills, I will have fully completed the program.

  • You should wear something comfortable for sure, as you will be laying down for a while. But also something that does not have any metal buttons on the front of your shirt as that may cause the bowls to rattle if I place one of them on you. (See on-body therapy). For individual sessions I will provide a blanket and an eye mask, should you want either, but feel free to bring your own. Other than that, just some water for when your session is over and the usual positive vibes!

  • Yes, of course! I’m an inclusive, LGBTQ+ affirming practitioner. My practice is inclusive and affirming for everyone, I welcome you to share as much or as little as you want with me in order to help you feel comfortable joining my healing space.

  • I'm so glad you asked! Oh wow...well a little bit of everything as usual. Recently discovered a jazz musician by the name of Ambrose Akinmusire, who released a beautiful solo trumpet album called Beauty is Enough. I've been down the King Gizzard rabbithole as well for when I need to blast something to release some built up energy! Been enjoying some "73-'74 era Grateful Dead as well. A show from 10/19/73 in particular.
